I believe the aspects of my idea do fit together. People on date functions want to have a good time and take someone they will have fun with. I also know a lot of college kids who want to broaden their network but do not know how. I got comments on my last post about people being afraid of taking strangers, which is true. Perhaps I could add a feature that shows you mutual connections with people so they seem like less of a stranger.
It might not be that people are afraid of talking to strangers, but afraid of having nothing to say. I would just say to make sure points of interest are available to each party. I like the idea of showing mutual connections. Is this a product you would personally use? Try and think of ways you would want the service to function.

I think your idea of adding features that shows mutual connections will be really cool. Facebook does this and other Social media sites as well. I think this would make the app a lot more friendly and intimidating to new users.

ReplyDeleteHey Courtney, thank you for the post. I think adding a mutual friend feature is actually a great idea. If someone is interested in said person, They could go to their mutual friend and ask them how they are as a person. I think that would make people feel more comfortable meeting them in person and would lead to better connections overall.
