What I'm evaluating: App price
Person 1: Buys apps on the app store, only for free. If offered in-app purchases, they never do it or upgrade to premium.
Person 2: Also gets apps in the app store, has bought some apps, but not more than $3. They never make in-app purchases.
Person 3: Never buys apps, but makes in-app purchases.
I would want to test a free app, but have a premium option where I would charge, just like tinder. If no one was interested in the premium, I could just make it free and make revenue from advertisements.
Dear Courtney, Thank you for your post. I see those segments as all very interesting. I think now you have to test the buyer behavior to see which segment is most likely to buy and then you can decide who you want to target. I personally think having your idea be a free app would get the most people to use it.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post Courtney. I agree with Stephen and this is a really interesting concept. I think advertisements would be your best source of revenue. In-app purchases are also pretty popular right now. There is a trend for free to play but with optional in app or in game purchases. I also think you would get more attention if the app was made free and you would have the most users.
