I picked this book because my sister is obsessed with Elon Musk and I wanted to know more about him. I found this book very inspiring and motivating. Obviously Elon is very successful and he gives tips on how to do this. He says to not chase money, but to chase meaning in a way that will benefit the whole society. He also says don't complain and that vacations can kill you. some of his other lessons are:
- figure out what questions to ask yourself
- create your own opportunities
- vacations can kill you
- value your time
- get used to pain and suffering.
Dear Courtney, Thank you for the post, I also read that book. I also find Elon Musk as an incredibly interesting person. It seems like you have a lot of the same feelings about him. Just to add, he unveiled a pretty radical truck prototype the other day and I think that idea to reinvent the truck embodies his attitudes towards the norms of life, a truly interesting guy indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your post Courtney, I really enjoyed reading your post. I also read this book and I also really enjoyed it. I think Elon Musk is pretty inspirational and many prospective entrepreneurs can learn a lot from him. He is one of the most forward thinking people on the book list. He looks towards the future not just how to make money in the present, which is why I think he is such an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteSee, now I'm a little interested in finding out about his distaste for vacations. Musk may be rather popular, but that doesn't mean his experiences don't house valuable lessons. I wonder how he would respond to comparing the value of money to valuing money. What was the most interesting piece of the book to you? And do you understand your sister's obsession now?
